Behaviour Support Implementation

At Recruit, Connect & Care, we specialise in providing high-quality, tailored supports for participants with behavioural needs. We are qualified to implement Module 2A behaviour support and apply restrictive practices. It is our goal is to improve the quality of life for our participants by working closely with their Behaviour Support Practitioners and allied health teams.

Our Approach to Behaviour Support

We are committed to offering non-judgmental, person-centred care. Our support services are tailored specifically to each participants behavioural needs, healthcare needs and personal goals. Our approach to implementing behaviour support lies in:

  • Understanding Behaviour: We understand that all behaviour has a purpose. We are committed to working with our participants and their Behaviour Support Practitioners to understand the meaning and purpose behind our participants behaviours.

  • Skill Building: Managing certain behaviours can be difficult for some participants. We work with Behaviour Support Practitioners to build our participants skills such as grounding techniques, alternative behaviours and communication development.
  • Environmental Modifications: We make and foster necessary environmental changes for our participants. We have reinforced one of our SIL homes with VJ lining walls and double-glazed windows to create a supportive living space that promotes safety for our participants.
  • Specialised Behaviour Support: We are qualified to implement Module 2A behaviour support and use regulated restrictive practices when necessary. Our team is highly trained in these practices to ensure we are providing the most effective and ethical support.
  • Collaboration: We provide regular feedback to the participants Behaviour Support Practitioner on what strategies are working for a participant and what strategies are not. We listen to our participants when they tell us how they feel about our responses to their behaviours and work with them to support them to the best of our ability. We believe in maintaining open communication, which includes incident reporting to keep all stakeholders informed of any significant developments within a participant’s life.

Training and Experience

At Recruit, Connect & Care we understand the importance of having support workers who have the knowledge and skills when it comes to supporting people with behavioural needs. That’s why we ensure our support workers are thoroughly trained in delivering Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
