Personal Care

Personal Care

Personal Care services are engaged when a participant requires assistance or support with daily living activities. When a Recruit, Connect & Care support worker assists you with personal care, they prioritise dignity, comfort and independence. At Recruit, Connect & Care we have Supports You Can Trust.

At Recruit, Connect & Care we understand that having someone help with your personal care is an intimate service. Our support workers focus on building relationships and trust with our participants, we are here to help you to feel and look the best that you can!

What kind of tasks fall into the category of personal care?

Here is a list of daily tasks that are considered personal care by the NDIS:

  • Personal hygiene: Tasks like showering, oral hygiene, dressing, grooming such as shaving or styling your hair, toileting and continence support.
  • Eating and drinking (mealtime management plans): We know that food is an important factor in everyone’s life, not just in the nutrition that the food provides us but also in the enjoyment. Not a fan of pumpkin? No worries, you’ll never see it on your shopping list. Enjoying what you eat is a fundamental part of life. Our staff can help you prepare a meal that is not only fitted to your personal needs but also one that is delicious!
  • Attending appointments: If you have an appointment you need to attend, our staff can be by your side and provide support and guidance.
  • Use of aids or appliances: Every disability is different. If you use cue cards to communicate, a mobility aid to get around or any kind of aid, our staff will adapt their care to cater to your needs.
  • Medication management: Our staff are all trained in medication management and take it very seriously. We ensure that you receive the correct medication on time, every time.

Tailored Support

We understand that everyone’s morning (or evening) routines look different. Some of us are creatures of habit who like our mornings to start with a cup of coffee, a trip to the toilet, a cleansing shower and then a delicious breakfast. Others prefer a more go with the flow kind of approach, maybe it’s a coffee while watching the news kind of morning or a shower as soon as you wake up, who’s to say depending on the day! However you wish to spend your day, in whatever order you want to engage in your personal care, we will be there to lend a hand.
